A traffic stop on Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville led to a foot pursuit and two Hopkinsville women being charged with possession of drugs Friday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle and the driver gave them a false name before getting out and fleeing on foot leading them on a pursuit.
Two passengers in the vehicle, 19-year-old Kendaijha Davie and 20-year-old Jayda Williams were reportedly found to be in possession of Xanax pills and Williams also had marijuana on her.
Police say Williams said the driver that fled had told her to take the drugs when they stopped and they would not be searched.
They were both charged with possession of a controlled substance and prescription controlled substance not in proper container.
Williams was also charged with possession of marijuana. The driver has not been located.
