A Trigg County man was charged after an investigation into someone firing a shot at two people on Sutton Lane Friday night.
Trigg County Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Hicks says he was called to the area for a suspicious vehicle and while en route a second caller reported someone shooting at them as they were out looking for their dogs. 67-year-old John Christie reportedly pulled up to them and fired a shot at them as they asked him about their dogs.
Hicks says Christie was located at his home and initially denied firing any shots but was upset that someone was on his road that had no right to be there.
He reportedly admitted to firing a warning shot and the gun was located in his garage. Hicks says the incident happened on a public roadway and not on Christie’s property. The gun was loaded with hollow-point ammunition.
Christie is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and using restricted ammunition during a felony.
