A second candidate has announced a run for district judge in the 56th Judicial District with Princeton resident Brandon Knoth seeking to fill the position on the bench being vacated by Judge Jamus Redd.

Knoth currently serves as the master commissioner for Lyon County since his appointment three years ago. A graduate of Lyon County High School, Western Kentucky University, and the University of Louisville, Knoth also served eight years as Lyon County attorney.

In making his announcement, Knoth said he is ready for the opportunity to put his 19 years of legal experience to work for the people of the district. He added as a former prosecutor, he has a unique perspective and skill set to handle the duties and challenges the district judges face.

Brandon and his wife Brandy Hughes Knoth live in Princeton and have three daughters.

The 56th District encompasses Caldwell, Trigg, Lyon, and Livingston counties and has one of the largest caseloads in the state. Division 1 District Judge Jamus Redd is vacating the seat to run for Circuit Judge to replace the retiring Judge Woody Woodall.

Knoth will join Matt Schalk and Jennifer Nelson as candidates in the non-partisan race.
