Jamus Redd Files for Circuit Judge in 56th District

District Judge Jamus Redd has filed to run for the circuit court bench in the 56th Judicial District being vacated with the retirement of Woody Woodall.

Redd filed his papers with the secretary of state’s office this week. He has served as District Judge since 2006 and Chief District Judge since 2014. Redd is a Trigg County resident who graduated from Harvard College in 1994 and graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1997.

Redd practiced law until his appointment and election in 2006. He was chosen as the Outstanding Judge by the Citizens Foster Care Review Board in 2013 and began the Trigg County Drug Court. Judge Redd is the longest-serving official among elected judges and prosecutors in the circuit.

Woodall announced earlier this year that he was not seeking another six-year term as a circuit court judge.

The 56th Judicial Circuit is comprised of Caldwell, Livingston, Lyon, and Trigg counties.
