Tis’ the season to give and the Hopkinsville Fire Department has announced it will once again partner with the Salvation Army for its Christmas For Kids program.
Officials at the fire department say Hopkinsville firefighters have been spreading joy and holiday spirit through the Christmas For Kids initiative since 1996. They note this year marks the 25th consecutive year in helping bring smiles to area residents in need on Christmas, thanks to the giving hearts of local citizens.
According to officials, the Hopkinsville Salvation Army has chosen a total of 50 families to be assisted this Christmas through the purchase of requested needs, such as clothing and other essentials. Officials say when you commit to adopting a family, you will be provided some basic information about the family and a wish list of items.
If you are interested in adopting a local family, contact Chief Inspector Chad Sivills at (270) 890-1452 or by email at csivills@hopkinsvilleky.us. Businesses are also encouraged to adopt a family for the Christmas For Kids program.
All purchased unwrapped items must be dropped off at the Hopkinsville Fire Department’s main station located at 116 Phillip Meacham Way by 5:00 Monday afternoon, December 13.
