A traffic stop on US 68 at Old Dover Road in Trigg County led to a Cadiz man and a Hopkinsville woman being charged with wanton endangerment Saturday night.
Trigg County Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Hicks says he stopped 34-year-old Allison Hunter for not wearing a seatbelt and during the stop, she admitted to drug paraphernalia being in the vehicle.
The passenger 39-year-old John Jones was reportedly found to have meth in his pocket and a pipe in his backpack. Their newborn child was also allegedly in the vehicle and not properly buckled up in a car seat.
Deputies say numerous marijuana pipes and marijuana cigarettes were found in the vehicle and in the baby’s diaper bag. The vehicle had no heat and they had no insurance for the vehicle.
They were both arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.
Hunter was charged with possession of marijuana, failure to wear a seatbelt, failure to use a child restraint device in a vehicle, and no insurance. Jones was also charged with possession of meth.
