A man was charged after a high-speed pursuit that ended in a crash in Christian County Friday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Chris Miller told the News Edge the pursuit started on Pennyrile Parkway in northern Christian County with a traffic stop for speeding.
The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle ran into a fence and a tree on Central Avenue in Hopkinsville. Miller says the driver 25-year-old Malik Ratcliff of Madisonville got up to speeds of 124 mph during the pursuit.
Ratcliff reportedly fled on foot but was captured in the area of Walnut Street and he was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for injuries.
Ratcliff is charged with speeding and two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police. he was also found to have two warrants for failure to appear out of Hopkins County.
