A Hopkinsville man was charged Sunday morning with stalking and violating an emergency protective order after he reportedly sent several text messages to a woman.
Hopkinsville Police say 42-year-old Joshua Meacham sent several text messages to the woman and when she stopped responding he threatened to slap their child if she did not respond.
He reportedly then send her a video of the child crying that was later found to be due to Meacham tossing the child’s cereal into a bathtub and not due to an assault.
Police say the woman was also able to show them videos of Meacham knocking on her window, throwing trash in her yard, and stopping his vehicle in front of her home.
He was arrested and charged with first-degree stalking and violation of an emergency protective order.
