City And County Leaders Proclaim December Human Rights Month

Mayor Wendell Lynch and Judge-Executive Steve Tribble have proclaimed December as Human Rights Month in Hopkinsville and Christian County.

At Tuesday night’s city council meeting, Mayor Lynch said he and Judge Tribble presented the Human Rights Month proclamation to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Human Rights Commission. He noted, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was signed by world leaders in 1948.

In January 2022, Luna says they will launch a Social Reading Room, a community book club to read books that enhance the mission of the Human Rights Commission and its City of Compassion committee.
