Princeton is among the communities to benefit from the disaster relief efforts of the Churches of Christ across the country.
A truck loaded with supplies from the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Incorporated was scheduled to arrive at the Princeton Church of Christ late Monday night. The truck that arrived in Princeton was the fifth to arrive in Western Kentucky since Friday night’s devastating storms. The first truck arrived Saturday afternoon at the Seven Oaks Church of Christ in Mayfield. The second truck for Mayfield arrived Sunday morning at the Northside Church of Christ in Mayfield. A third truck arrived at the Benton Church of Christ after lunch Sunday. The fourth truck was unloaded at the Mars Hill Church of Christ in Bowling
Green on Monday morning. A sixth truck is scheduled to unload Tuesday at the Lehman Avenue Church of Christ in Bowling Green.
Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Incorporated provides victims of major US disasters. with food, hygiene items, new clothing, and cleaning supplies, paid for by Church of Christ members. Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort monitors all media avenues watching for major natural disasters in the United States and US territories that have displaced victims from their homes.
Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort stands prepared with a warehouse of supplies, packed, ready to load on a truck and have on the road within hours. Initially they send prepacked family food boxes, personal care boxes, infant care boxes, cleaning buckets, along with pallets of bottled water, diapers, laundry detergent, bleach, new clothing and shoes, along with bundles of mops, rakes, shovels, and brooms, and other cleaning supplies.
The supplies are then turned over to the leadership of the local Church of Christ for distribution to disaster victims.
The supplies have been paid for by Church of Christ congregations and members from across the nation.
