State parks in western and central Kentucky are housing people who lost their homes during the weekend tornados with two parks already at capacity.
Governor Andy Beshear said Tuesday that Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park near Dawson Springs was already full and being taken care of with an abundance of volunteers on site.
click to download audioIn addition, Beshear said Kenlake State Park is full after people from a nearby church shelter were moved there.
click to download audioAnyone wanting to volunteer at state parks other than Pennyrile should e-mail andy.kasitz@ky.gov. The governor said people need to have their own lodging near the parks they want to volunteer at.
