Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles stated the impact on the state’s number one industry will be felt for a long time, following the aftermath of recent storms.
During a recent interview with the News Edge, Quarles said there is significant agriculture-related damage across western Kentucky from the recent tornadoes.
Also damaged in Graves County, the Hutson Ag John Deere location in Mayfield.
Other damage included fences and other facilities.
Quarles added Kentucky Farm Bureau and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture have joined forces to create the Kentucky Agriculture Relief Fund, a GoFundMe page to raise much-needed funding.
Quarles said there could be supply issues in the near future, as Kentucky begins to recover from the storm.
Quarles added Kentucky’s agriculture industry will come back stronger than ever.
