Princeton Mayor Kota Young said during a 5 p.m. visit with the WPKY News Edge Tuesday that the cleanup and recovery process is progressing.
Young said he’s happy they received approval Tuesday for a second burnsite at the country club that will be built at the rear of South Deerfield Drive.
Young added they will be in the Deerfield neighborhood possibly by mid-morning or afternoon Wednesday to begin moving some vegetation and clean lumber to the burnsite.
He said the cleanup process is progressing and going great.
He also gave a shoutout to Princeton Electric Plant Board for getting power restored to some structures at the country club that survived Friday night’s storm.
The mayor also wants to remind those who are cleaning up around their residence to segregate the debris into four distinct piles.
Mayor Young said obviously some city resources will be tied up in the south part of Princeton for some time to come. He is asking for patience and understanding as the city continues to recover from a historic storm.
