The second candidate for the November 2022 race for Trigg County Circuit Court Clerk filed paperwork Thursday.
Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley confirmed to the News Edge that Lisa Thomas, a Republican, will run for the seat. Thomas ran for the seat during the 2018 election but was beat out by longtime court clerk Pam Perry.
Perry retired in August, with Democrat Stephen Washer, appointed by 56th Circuit Judge C.A. Woodall III, to fill the rest of her term. Washer has filed his paperwork to run for the seat.
The deadline to file to run is January 7, 2022, for partisan races and June 7, 2022, for non-partisan races in Kentucky.
