Christian County Storm Clean Up Efforts Continue (w/VIDEO)

The sound of chain saws and hammers could be heard all over Pembroke and parts of Herndon Monday as tornado damage is cleaned up.

Christian County Emergency Manager Randy Graham says they will be setting up a Disaster Recovery Center in Pembroke soon.

Graham says several homes, farms, businesses, churches, and a school were damaged or destroyed in the storm.

The county is working to remove vegetation debris says Graham adding all construction materials should not be put at the roadway and need to be kept separate from vegetation debris. Other debris will be picked up at a later time.

Graham says they are using an interactive map showing the extent of damage to share with the state officials.

All roadways in the county have been cleared and power has been restored.
