A man was charged with assault after he reportedly stabbed another man on Witty Lane in Christian County Saturday night.
Christian County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Rick Burgess says 42-year-old Benito Bautista stabbed Eric Orzco in the stomach several times while he was sitting in his vehicle before his vehicle hit a parked car in the driveway.
Orzco was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Bautista’s wife reportedly told deputies she was going through a divorce with Bautista and had been seeing Orzco for a while, When Orzco arrived to pick her up the men got into an altercation.
Law enforcement was first called to the scene just before 11 pm for a report of a self-inflicted stab wound and found that Orzco had been stabbed by someone else.
Bautista was arrested and charged with first-degree assault.
