HES Continuing To Restore Power After Hopkinsville Storm

Hopkinsville Electric System crews and contractors are continuing to restore power to customers impacted by the likely tornado Saturday morning.

HES General Manager Jeff Hurd says immediately following the storm there were more than 1,600 customers in Hopkinsville without electric power. As of Sunday morning Hurd says about 200 customers remain without electric service.

Hurd says there still extensive work to be done to restore power. Crews and contractors are focusing on the area near 18th, Campbell, and Walnut Streets.

HES issued a warning Saturday night that customers without electricity need to find another place to live until power is restored due to the cold temperatures this week.
