The race for Trigg County Fiscal Court District 6 gained yet another entrant Wednesday afternoon, when Jan Culwell filed her paperwork as a Democrat.
A seat soon to be vacated by Larry Lawrence, Culwell is one of seven who has already filed for the election, and currently the only Democrat. Dennis Whitten, Michael Anderson, Billy Calhoun, Will Ezell, Lucas Hale and Pat Bush have all filed for the Republican primary.
Kimberly Boyd-Linton, originally running for the District 5 seat as a Democrat, has reportedly removed her name from race.
Meanwhile, two Trigg County residents became the first to file for constable positions Wednesday, with Ray Wyatt running as a Republican in District 2, and John Oliphant running as a Republican in District 3.
Those wishing to run for partisan races currently have until January 7, though that could get extended to January 25 through the Kentucky General Assembly and Governor Andy Beshear this week.
