A trial date has been set for a Hopkinsville man accused of killing a man on Hazel Street in July.
During Wednesday afternoon’s session of Christian County Circuit Court, Judge Andrew Self set the trial for Leon Grimes to start on Monday, June 27, with a pretrial conference to be held Wednesday, May 25.
Grimes is charged with the murder of 28-year-old Calvin Buckner, who he reportedly shot in the chest during a party in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 4. Bucker was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Grimes was charged and arrested for the crime five days later. He is lodged in the Christian County Jail.
