Heritage Christian Academy’s Kris Ruth Nominated for Two Service Academies

Heritage Christian Academy senior Kris Ruth has been nominated to the United States Naval Academy and United States Military Academy at West Point by U.S. Congressman James Comer.

“Based on his strong academic track record and leadership in school organizations, Kristopher is well qualified to attend one of our nation’s premier service academies,” Comer said. “I wish him all the best in the years to come as he pursues this well-earned opportunity in service to his country.”

Ruth was a captain on the HCA soccer team and helped the Warriors win its first Kentucky Christian Athletic Association state soccer championship and was named Mr. Soccer — the highest honor given by the KCAA to a soccer player for both work in the classroom and mission work in the community.

Ruth is active with the Boys and Girls Club, the Aaron McNeil House, and the Salvation Army among other groups.

In the classroom, he is dually enrolled in five college classes and holds down a 4.1 GPA.

He serves as president of the National Honor Society and helped spearhead an effort to collect supplies and water to send to Mayfield after tornados ravaged the Graves County city and several others in western Kentucky earlier this month.
