Trigg County Averaging 12 New COVID Cases Daily in 2022

There have been 59 cases of COVID-19 reported in Trigg County in the first five days of 2022 which puts it on pace to be the second-most in a month since the onset of the pandemic.

The Pennyrile District Health Department reported 30 new cases on Wednesday and 13 on Tuesday. None of the 59 cases this month have required hospitalizations.

The cases this year have been spread nearly equally among age groups. 17 are 20 and under; 18 are between 21 and 40, and 13 are between 41 and 60.

In the first five days of the year, Trigg County is averaging 11.8 new cases a day which puts it squarely in the red on the state’s COVID-19 incidence rate map. Four or more new cases a day over a seven-day period makes Trigg a red county according to the formula.

Trigg County has seen three months with 300 or more cases of COVID-19 — 317 in January of last year; 398 in September; and 305 last month. January is tracking toward 365 cases this month.
