Police have released the name of a man that was struck by his own vehicle in the Food Lion parking lot in Hopkinsville Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 67-year-old Frederick Johnson of Cadiz stopped in the parking lot after tossing a cigarette out the window and seeing smoke in the back of the vehicle.
When he stepped out of the vehicle he reportedly failed to put it in park and was knocked over and his leg was run over by his vehicle.
He was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for leg injuries. The crash happened just before 10 a.m.
