Woman Charged After Hopkinsville Police Pursuit

A woman was charged after she reportedly fled from police in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 31-year-old Biyonas Riley on East 21st Street for having a suspended license and she gave them someone else’s driver’s license then fled at speeds of 65 mph.

After she reportedly disregarded a traffic control device and was swerving and going into the opposite lane of traffic the pursuit was terminated.

Her vehicle was later found on Fairfax Avenue with an adult passenger and three children inside.

Police say Riley was located trying to leave in another vehicle. During the investigation, a gun was also found in the roadway at Cox Mill Road and Fairfax Avenue.

Riley was arrested and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

She was also found to have three active warrants for charges of third-degree burglary and non-payment of fines.
