A wreck on Hopkinsville Road at Merchant Street killed a Cadiz woman and injured two others Monday morning.
Kentucky State Police say a car driven by 81-year-old Freda Oakley was crossing Hopkinsville Road from Merchant Street and pulled into the path of a westbound truck driven by 39-year-old Jamie Gapp of Cadiz.
Both drivers and a 20-month-old passenger in Gapp’s truck were taken to Trigg County Hospital were Oakley died from her injuries.
A helicopter was called to Trigg County Hospital but was later cancelled.
The crash happened just before 12 pm. The roadway was blocked for several hours as the crash was reconstructed.
The wreck is being investigated by Kentucky State Police.
