A Fredonia man was charged with theft after an investigation into a license plate off of a stolen vehicle that was found during a traffic stop.
Hopkinsville Police say on December 4th 27-year-old Terry Cantrell took a woman’s 2008 Chevy Impala valued at $5,000.
The mother of Cantrell’s child was reportedly stopped in Montgomery County, Tennessee, and the license plate from the stolen vehicle was found during the traffic stop.
When police attempted to interview Cantrell who was in jail on other charges police say he changed his story multiple times but admitted at one point that he was told he could drive the stolen car.
He was charged Monday morning with theft by unlawful taking
