One of the most important genealogical keepsakes in Trigg County’s storied history has, finally, arrived.
Earlier this week, Trigg County Historical Society President Bob Brame noted the greatly-anticipated Bicentennial Edition, and third volume, of “History & Families” is on the shelves — after what’s been a near two-year wait for the beloved bound of biographies.
At $65 each, Brame said 437 were ordered in this first run — with several of those already shipped and on the way from the binding and publishing company.
Brame added those who didn’t get them shipped to their home have two opportunities to pick them up this month: from 10 AM until 4 PM this Saturday, January 22, at the Trigg County Historical Society Museum, and at the same time and place Saturday, January 29.
A few extra books were ordered to acquiesce new interests, and Brame said those are also available for purchase and can be shipped for $6.50.
Reservations can be taken through the “Trigg County Historical Society” Facebook page, and supplies are quite limited.
Brame said the book was so exciting, his wife, Patti, stayed up late one night earlier this week just to peruse it.
The Trigg County Historical Society is located at 41 Jefferson Street in Cadiz.
