Man Arrested In Lyon County For Trafficking Marijuana

A traffic stop on Interstate 69 in Lyon County led to the arrest of an Oregon man after state police say they found a large quantity of marijuana, marijuana wax and mushrooms with an estimated total value of over $900,000 in his vehicle.

According to state police, the driver, 55-year old Robert Volz, of Portland, was stopped for a traffic violation near Eddyville. During a search of his vehicle, troopers seized approximately 170 pounds of marijuana bud with an estimated value of $765,000, ten pounds of marijuana wax with a value of approximately $136,000, and 1 pound of mushrooms with an estimated value of approximately $2,000.

Volz was taken into custody and charged by Kentucky State Police for trafficking in marijuana over 5 pounds. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Lewie Dodd.
