Trigg County is closing in on 300 cases of COVID-19 this month which would make January only the fourth month to pass that threshold.
Numbers released by the Pennyrile District Health Department Wednesday showed Trigg County with 30 additional cases, bringing the total for January to 294. With less than two weeks left in the month, Trigg County is averaging 15 new cases a day and will likely pass 400 cases in a month for the first time.
Of the 30 new cases reported Wednesday, none were hospitalized. Six of the cases involved people over the age of 60 and six were between the ages of 4 and 18.
Earlier this week, the health department reported a COVID-linked death of a Trigg County resident from December.
