Architects for the new Christian County Public Consolidated High School are optomistic that construction documents will be completed by May and construction will get underway this summer. Hafer Associates Architect, Jack Faber presented the School Board with the design development documents.
It will still have to be approved by the Kentucky Department of Education. He adds that more details about the building will be coming once the state offers approval.
The Board approved multiple state required items related to the project including an amended BG-1 for the land on Fort Campbell Boulevard and Lovers Lane that included the final $6 million price and the $16,000 closing costs. The Board also approved bidding out the errosion, grading, and building pad work at the site to start in May.
Assistant Superindent Jessica Addison asked the board to approve the phase 2 partnership with Ford Next Generation Learning.
She adds the process has 5 phases. In related business, Board members declared the about 26 acres owned on Country Club Lane as surplus. A move attorney Jack Lackey says is a first step to deciding if the land will be sold. The School Board did go into closed session at the end of the meeting to discuss the matter further.
