Three more candidates have filed to run for Hopkinsville City Council with a primary now set for the Ward 12 seat.
Republican Matthew Handy has filed for the Ward 12 seat according to the Christian County Clerk’s Office and will face Elizabeth Draude in the May 17 primary. Democratic incumbent Phillip Brooks is unopposed in the primary.
Democrat Twyla Dillard has filed to run for the Ward 8 seat on the council. Republican Robert Terry Meek has also filed for the race.
In Ward 1, Republican incumbent Natasha Sophia Francis has filed for another term. Also filing for the seat is Democrat Vance Smith.
