A Hopkinsville man was charged with assault and strangulation after an altercation with his girlfriend on Sarah Avenue in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 28-year-old Jatraevionn Thornton was arguing with his girlfriend over moving around while sleeping and grabbed her by the throat choking her until she passed out.
She reportedly grabbed at his face as she was being choked and he bit her pointer finger.
He was located on Colonette Drive and arrested and charged with first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault.
