More than 300 people came out to the annual Kiwanis pancake breakfast held at the War Memorial Building in downtown Hopkinsville Saturday morning.
Members of Kiwanis fed about 325 people and raised $5,000 at the event sponsored by United Southern Bank along with a donation from Continental Mills in Hopkinsville, the maker of Krusteaz pancake mix.
The Kiwanis Club of Hopkinsville celebrated its 100th-anniversary last month. The local club was organized in December 1921 with the charter presented at Hotel Latham in Hopkinsville on January 24, 1922. Officials say the club is the fifth oldest club in Kentucky and has grown to over 90 members.
