A home on Hopper Court in Hopkinsville was destroyed in a fire Thursday morning.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Payton Rogers says when they arrived heavy smoke was coming from the structure and they had received a report that the homeowner was possibly inside.
The owner was later found to have been at the hospital and was not home at the time.
Rogers says the wind made it harder to fight the fire adding the back of the home and the second story was badly damaged.
No one was injured in the fire. All four fire stations were called to the fire.
