A boil water advisory from the Barkley Lake Water District is in effect for 14 houses along Hwy. 128 between Buffalo Knob and Stewart roads.
Officials noted there needed to be some cutting of a valve end around that area, and that the advisory should remain in effect for the next 24-to-30 hours.
In a boil water advisory, drinking water should be boiled for no less than three minutes before being brought to room temperature for daily use. This includes water for pets, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation.
