A Tennessee woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 24 in Caldwell county Sunday morning.

State police report a preliminary investigation indicated that 30-year old Destiny Couch of Antioch, Tennessee was traveling eastbound on I-24 near the 57-mile marker around 6:00 a.m.

Troopers said as Couch began to pass a compact SUV, for some unknown reason, the front passenger’s side of her vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of the SUV driven by 33-year old Erik Zimmer, of Georgia. The impact reportedly caused Zimmer’s SUV to exit the right shoulder of the roadway where it began to flip several times before landing upright. Police said Couch’s vehicle rotated and came to rest facing west in the eastbound lanes.

Couch was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville for treatment of injuries.
