The National Weather Service says a round of severe weather is possible Thursday when a cold front that will produce rain and thunderstorms passes through the region.
Forecasters say there is a slight risk of severe weather across the southern Pennyrile that includes Trigg, Christian, Caldwell, Lyon, Hopkins, and a number of counties to the west. The National Weather Service says the main risk will be damaging winds, with a chance for flooding and tornadoes also noted.
Winds are expected to gust to more than 35 miles per hour on Wednesday, with similar wind speeds predicted for Thursday. Forecasters say some gusts could hit the 45 miles per hour range at times. The National Weather Service says the region could receive between one and two inches of rain, which could result in some minor flooding.
