Theme Set For 55th Annual Cadiz Rotary Auction

In line with its club motto “Service Above Self,” Cadiz Rotary has selected the theme of “Serve to Change Lives” for its upcoming 55th Annual Radio Auction — set to begin the week of Monday, April 11.

Auction week begins with the W.J. Hopson Kick-off Breakfast at the Lake Barkley State Resort Park Convention Center, with doors opening at 6 AM, the meal beginning at 6:30 AM and the program set for 7 AM. Tickets and tables are limited and already on sale, and can be purchased by contacting Sharon Butts by phone at (270) 350-2014 or by email, sharonbutts@triggindustry.com.

From there, the highly-anticipated auction circuit will run from 6-9 PM that Monday through that Friday, April 15, and can be heard on WKDZ 106.5 FM, streamed online at wkdzradio.com or picked up through the WKDZ app on phones.

Bidding on auction items and donations in the “Big Deals” store will still take place at wkdzradio.com.

A year after raising more than $317,000 in auction efforts, the 2022 set goal is $300,000 — in what is another playful push for the Hopkinsville Rotary Club to do the same. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to donate auction items, contribute to the Century Club with monetary gifts, purchasing BBQ through the “Fill the Pits” fundraiser — and, of course, buying auction items on the block.

All funds raised through the annual Cadiz Rotary Auction go to support local youth and senior efforts — which typically comes in the form of scholarships and grants, traditional and non-traditional support of college and trade school students, embracing local youth organizations and sports teams, and providing a strong pipeline for the Trigg County Senior Citizens Center and its programming.
