A Trigg County man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Chanz Outing is charged in the federal indictment with possession of an unregistered firearm and a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. He was served a federal arrest warrant last week.
According to the indictment, Outing was in possession of a 20-gauge shotgun in July of 2021 with the knowledge he had been convicted of trafficking in cocaine. Outing was also convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm in 2009.
Both charges carry a possible sentence in federal court of not more than 10 years in prison, three years supervised release, and a fine.
