Twelve community organizations in the area will benefit from the Planters Bank Season of Giving program which raised more than $35,000 during the eighth annual campaign.
Planters Bank CEO Elizabeth McCoy says the Planters Bank Season of Giving is a bank tradition that has a goal of supporting community organizations. She says each organization they supported this Season of Giving supports children in each of the bank’s communities, whether it’s providing shoes, food, or experiences.
According to a release, Planters Bank worked with a local small business to produce two special customer gift items for the Season of Giving — one Kentucky gift and one Tennessee gift, sold in each Planters Bank branch. Planters Bank purchased the items outright, allowing 100% of the purchase price of those items ($20/gift) to be donated to the Season of Giving organizations.
The featured organizations and bank locations include:
– Planters Bank in Princeton donated $1,000 to Caldwell County Happy Feet Equals Learning Feet
– Planters Bank in Dawson Springs donated $940 to the Family Resource and Youth Service Center
– Planters Bank in Providence donated $700 to the Webster County Happy Feet program
– The main Planters Bank in Hopkinsville donated more than $2,361 to the Boys & Girls Club, while the branch location at Indian Hills donated over $1,381 to Men2Be and the branch on Fort Campbell Boulevard donated around $1,931 to Imagination Library.
– Planters Bank in Sturgis donated $15,125 to Union County Happy Packs
– Planters Bank in Sebree donated $6,820 to CASA of Midwest Kentucky
The remainder of the donations were distributed to organizations in Clarksville.
Officials say Season of Giving began as a fun way to bring attention to organizations and has grown into a program Planters Bank and its employees look forward to each year. Bank officials also express their gratitude to the community for its generosity in helping support local organizations year after year.
