Lafayette Man Named in Caldwell County Indictment

Two men were indicted by a Caldwell County grand jury on charges stemming from a December traffic stop on I-24.

27-year old Justin Thomas, of Lafayette, and 23-year old Tyler Thomas, of Alexandria, Tennessee, were both indicted on charges for receiving stolen property under $10,000 and complicity to first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Justin Thomas was additionally indicted for tampering with physical evidence and Tyler Thomas was indicted for reckless driving, operating on a suspended operator’s license, and having no insurance and vehicle registration violations.

The two men were arrested by Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies as they were assisting the Cadiz Police Department with a traffic stop in December on Interstate 24. Deputies executed a search warrant on the vehicle and said they found several stolen items inside that were reported stolen by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and the Hopkinsville Police Department.

Princeton Police served both men with the Indictment Warrants at the Caldwell County Jail on Monday. Both are being held on a $15,000 cash bond.
