Princeton Child Hit By Vehicle Flown To Nashville Hospital

Police say a child was flown to a Nashville hospital after he was hit by a vehicle on North Cave Street in Princeton Saturday night.

According to Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison, officers responded to the 500 block of North Cave Sreet shortly before 7 p.m. He says an investigation revealed that 4-year old Garrett Vinson was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a northbound pickup truck (in a 25 mph zone) driven by 60-year old Donald R. Dupass, of Princeton.

The child was transported by Caldwell County EMS to Caldwell County Hospital and later flown to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital for injuries.

Officers were assisted at the scene by Caldwell County EMS, Princeton Fire Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Princeton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Officer.

The investigation is ongoing.
