A Hopkinsville man charged in connection to a double homicide on Peach Street was arraigned in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.
Anthony Gaines is charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of 21-year old George Gomez and 25-year old Kiera Wallace who were found inside a Peach Street home on August 7, 2021.
In court Wednesday, his attorney waived formal reading of the indictment and entered a not guilty plea, and addressed issues with a solitary confinement order. After a lengthy argument from Gaines’ attorney that the solitary confinement order is too extreme, Judge Self agreed there should be some modifications, including allowing him one weekly call to his mother.

Judge Self set a pretrial conference for June 1st.
Gaines is also charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
