The Pennyrile Area Development District has a new communications director in the fold, and it’s a familiar face.
Effective immediately, Melissa Thompson takes the helm.
She joined the PADD staff as a workforce liaison in 2005, to assist with data entry and technology-related tasks for the West Kentucky Workforce Board. This turned into the management of workforce public relations efforts, and later into the design and creation of both the PADD and WKWB websites and social media outlets.
In this new role, Thompson will be responsible for PADD’s overall communication strategies, including but not limited to branding, public relations, web presence, social media and overall support for PADD’s executive director, senior management team and PADD’s board of directors.
An alumna of Murray State University with a master’s degree in organizational communications, Thompson and her husband, Dustin, reside, work and attend church in Hopkinsville with their daughter, Mailee.
She enjoys creating visual concepts that communicate ideas for inspiration and information.
