Hopkinsville Man Indicted For Complicity To Murder

A Hopkinsville man was indicted Friday for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of 19-year old Alijah Watts on Fort Campbell Boulevard last month.

The Christian County Grand Jury returned a true-bill charging 20-year old Christian McKeel with complicity to murder.

The charge stems from the evening of March 2nd when Hopkinsville police reported that McKeel helped two juveniles execute the robbery of Watts by luring him to Casey’s General Store.

According to police, Watts, of Hopkinsville, was found with a gunshot to his abdomen after officers responded to a wreck on East 21st Street shortly after 6:00 that evening. Police said Watts was the driver of a vehicle that hit a house and another vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville where he later died from his injuries.

All three suspects were taken into custody within a couple of days after the fatal shooting. Police charged the two juveniles with murder.
