The Murray State University Alumni Association has announced its Distinguished Alumni Class of 2022, and one local dignitary is among its ranks.
Dr. Alissa Young, Hopkinsville Community College President and CEO, has been named as one of the six to be honored on April 22 at the Distinguished Alumni Dinner.
A graduate in both 1989 and 1993, Young is HCC’s sixth president and CEO, which joined KCTCS in 2017.
Young has served in multiple capacities for HCC since 1991 — most recently as its chief academic officer from 2013 until her presidency. After earning her two degrees at MSU — a bachelor’s in radio-television broadcasting and a master’s in organizational communications — she earned her doctorate with the University of Kentucky.
Others honored in her class include Nancy Gibbs Becker (Class of 1963), Harold Doran Jr. (Class of 1975), Robert “Bud” Foster (Class of 1983), Steven Rudy (Class of 2000), and Distinguished Young Alumna Marla Moore (Class of 2011).
