Officials within Christian County Public Schools have announced the resignation of Dr. John Gunn, principal of Hopkinsville High School.
Gunn announced his resignation to staff last week, and it will be effective at the end of the 2021-22 school year.
Chris Bentzel, superintendent, noted the district “greatly appreciates the work Dr. Gunn put forth, in leading Hopkinsville High over the last four years.”
The Hopkinsville High School’s Site Based Decision Making Council will meet at 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, April 12, at the school’s media center to begin the process of selecting a new principal.
Prior to HHS, Gunn had 33 years of experience in North Carolina and Tennessee — and was serving as Associate Director of Schools for Lawrence County in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee prior to his term in Hopkinsville.
Gunn’s first day in Christian County was July 1, 2018.
