Earlier this week, officials within the 55th Annual Cadiz Rotary Auction noted more than 600 items had made it to the “Big Deals” page online at wkdzradio.com.
That total has now surpassed 700, and Cadiz Rotary President and co-auction chair Kyle Hensley said a new goal of 800 has been set — hopefully to be reached by the end of next week.
Hensley added that the “Big Deals” page is easily navigable — with several functions to make searches simple.
From big-ticket items like a brand new Gator Utility Vehicle valued at more than $14,000, to low-dollar gift cards to some of the region’s top fastfood restaurants — Hensley noted there’s something for everyone.
It’s worth a reminder that Rotary’s auctioning efforts go toward the funding of multiple scholarships and a wide variety of other education opportunities, while also getting converted into funding for the elders of Trigg County.
Hensley and his sister, Ashley, were both Rotary Scholars out of high school, but again, the money goes in many directions.
One of the biggest drivers of success for this auction, Hensley added, is the community buy-in not just here, but also in Hopkinsville — which will hold its auction two weeks from now.
Set for 6-9 p.m. April 11-15 on WKDZ Radio, the Monday morning “kick-off” breakfast at Lake Barkley’s State Resort Park Convention Center already has 25 tables secured and a number of individual tickets sold, but Hensley added there’s still room for more.
Tickets can still be purchased from Sharon Butts.
