Cadiz Rotary Radio Auction Passes $18,000 on First Night

Cadiz Rotary Club President Kyle Hensley said there are plenty of big items on the board for Tuesday’s bidding in the annual rotary radio auction.

The first night of the 55th annual Cadiz Rotary Club’s radio auction is pacing slightly behind last year’s first-night auction total, although a solid night of century club memberships made it a successful opening.

Auction proceeds for the first night were around $5,200. Add that to $8,000 in century club donations and nearly $4,500 raised at Monday morning’s W.J. Hopson Kickoff Breakfast, it means a first day of around $18,000. A revised total later Tuesday will likely push that past $20,000.

Last year’s first day raised over $8,800 for the auction compared to the pre-COVID-19 total of $14,768 in 2019.

However, Rotarian Beth Mann says there are still plenty of items left on the big board that will see bids accepted this week.
