Police have released the names of two people that were injured in a wreck on South Main Street in Hopkinsville Friday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say a southbound truck driven by 33-year-old John Lancaster of Hopkinsville collided with an eastbound car driven by 63-year-old Sandy Newton of Hopkinsville that was turning onto South Main Street from East 4th Street.
The collision sent Sandy Newton’s car off the roadway coming to a stop resting against a building. Sandy Newton and her passenger 70-year-old Smith Newton along with a dog that was in her car had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Hopkinsville Fire Department.
Sandy Newton and Smith Newton were both taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for injuries. The dog, that was also injured was taken by family members.
The crash happened just before 9 am.
