Following some further damage assessments, officials from the National Weather Service office in Paducah confirmed that a sixth tornado touched down — during Wednesday evening’s bout with two rapidly-moving storm fronts and inclement weather.
Described as a weak, brief EF-0 tornado, the twister occurred 7-to-8 miles southeast of Dawson springs around 5:34 that afternoon. A Friday survey revealed several small trees were downed, with a path length about half a mile long.
More specifically, the tornado crossed over Rialto Mine Road…southeast of Buttermilk Road and south of the St. Charles community in southern Hopkins County.
